The Featherstone Building is a 125,000 sqft commercial premises in the East of London. A key feature of this building design was to highlight the exterior elevation textures and finishes which had to be represented in the model.  Included within the brief was to also incorporate a full lighting system which illuminated selected floors and spaces within the model for marketing purposes. 

Using a mixture of laser cut acrylics to represent brick textures and casting textured paper we were able to replicate the pre-cast concrete elements.  Derwent originally requested a 1:100 scale model, however they were advised that by increasing the scale slightly it would show greater and an accurate view of the broad material palette on the building.  This increased scale also gave a much clearer view of the internal floor plates – a key feature when marketing real estate.
